Last week several British bookmakers suspended bettings on the Italian Serie A football match between Chievo and Catania due to suspected £ 217,000 stakes on a draw result (1-1) between two clubs placed in the bottom half of the top championship.
The flood of bets on the result between two unfashionable clubs lead bookmakers to suspect a fixed match. Due to that suspicion, seven firms have suspended bettings on the match since last Tuesday.The amount of money was unbelievably high for two teams in their position. In fact it’s very uncommon for so many people to be so confident on a draw and interested in a match that would not be be televised.
