The annual trade show and conference Global Gaming Expo will move backwards by more than one month in 2011. The next edition will take place from October 4th through 6th and move from the Las Vegas Convention Center to the Sands Expo and Convention Center. While the Sands Expo and Convention Center has just 1.8 million square feet (including the Venetian Congress facility) of meeting space compared to the Las Vegas Convention Center’s 2.3 million square feet, conference organizers believe attendees will like the shift in locations: the conference usually attracts nearly 26,000 industry professionals from around the world.
In order to create a more evenly spaced global calendar of events also the Global Gaming Expo Asia, held in Macau, will be shifted to May. “Global Gaming Expo is the only international event developed by the industry for the industry” president and CEO of the American Gaming Association Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr stated. “These changes were made with the needs of both exhibitors and attendees in mind. We expect the revised schedule to result in increased attendance and sales at all of our events”.
The revised schedule should bring with it numerous advantages, including allowing exhibitors more breathing room between major international gaming events. “It also allows planning for the coming year with greater ease” Fahrenkopf said. The upcoming 2010 edition of Global Gaming Expo, held in November from 16th to 18th, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the conference.
