Florida, Cruise Ship Gambling will start sailing next month

A new gambling cruise company will begin operating in Florida next month. Jacks or Better Casino, which plans to hire 100 people, will sail with 17 gaming tables twice daily starting September 15th. “I pulled a lot of money out of the stock market because it is more of a gamble than this, I was looking for a business where you knew where you had a reasonable chance of having the odds in your favour” stated Mark Slotkin, the company’s president.

The ship, which will be able to accommodate up to 500 passengers, will have 200 slot machines, two roulette tables and two crap tables, will sail three miles off the coast into international waters, where gambling is legal. The cost will be between $20 and $25 per sailing, including a buffet and non-alcoholic beverages. Two sailings a day will take place, from Wednesday through Sunday. Florida is one of the states where gambling is becoming a main source of revenue.
