Bomb attack threat at a Casino in Las Vegas

Arizona Charlie’s Hotel and Casino (Las Vegas) had had to be evacuated on Saturday night after a man claimed to have a bomb around his chest. Fortunately the threat turned out to be a fake and everything turned back in normality in Sin City after the man was arrested. Saturday night the man stepped into the casino and walked up to the security desk claiming the security guard that he was wearing an explosive device. As he showed it the guards persuaded him to go outside and evacuated the resort. As the casino was evacuated, Boulder Highway outside of the casino was also shut down for a period of time.

Police say the man apparently wanted to commit “suicide by cop”, but as the officers learned that it all was a hoax, the man was arrested. During the evacuation the man repeatedly told the police to shoot him or he was going to blow up the casino.

The incident did not come at a great time for Arizona Charlie’s because it, like all Las Vegas casinos, experienced a slow summer and the past couple of years have also brought declining revenue as Macau overtook Sin City as the casino gambling capital of the world.
